Class of 2024 Scholarships
We strongly encourage all students to complete our SHHS "Common App" to be considered for any of the over 75 scholarships and awards that will be presented at our Awards Night on Monday, June 3rd. Some scholarship and award opportunities have special qualifications and require essays which must be completed in addition to the SHHS Common App. Those supplemental applications, and the award requirements are linked below.
The deadline for all applications is April 5, 2024. Please see your guidance counselor with any questions you may have.

Alyce N. Coqueran & Martha Richmond Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, 4 Year College Bound - Accounting or Business Major, Interview required 85 GPA, 2/4 Year College Bound, Community Service, Financial Need
Carpinone Family Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: Demonstrated Financial Need, A good school citizen, Will be attending an accredited college, university, or trade school program in the fall
Chamber of Commerce Aspiring Business Leader Award - Awarded to a student who exhibits potential in the field of business and entrepreneurship and demonstrates a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation. Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, engagement with local business, community service, extracurricular involvement and leadership experience.
Class of 2021 Sarina McGough Choi Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: graduating senior in good standing, short essay.
Elizabeth Mascia Child Care Center Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: attended EMCCC in their younger years, is in good academic standing, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or guidance counselor. It is our hope that this student will use the scholarship money towards the purchase of a laptop, tablet or books.
Godwin-Lillis BOE Scholarship - The award will be based on service to the school and community and financial need. Requirements for this scholarship are: graduating senior(s) in good standing, who has made a positive impact on the SHHS community, short essay.
Horsemen PTA Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are:
Must be in good standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Must enroll in an accredited career or technical school or a 2/4 year college or university in the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. Scholarship funds must be used during the 2024-2025 school year for educational expenses. Examples of qualifying expenses include tuition; fees; textbooks; supplies and equipment required for enrollment; transportation to school; and special needs services.
Jeanne McLaurin Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: in good academic standing, interested in pursuing a health-related field, has advanced nutrition and access to healthy foods through community volunteer work, and, has captured the idea of “Healthy eating and how it has impacted them during their high school life” in a 500 word essay.
Jessica Santos Memorial Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: 80 GPA, 2/4 yr college bound, Community Service, Extracurricular Activities
Joe Golden Memorial Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: Must be in good standing, Must be an athlete during senior year *Students who have an injury that does not allow them to play, so long as they are still committed and actively a part of the team (regularly attends practices/games or helps the team in some way) are eligible. Must be active in serving his/her community. Must get a recommendation from your coach about your commitment to the team (Can be a student manager as well). Open to students going to 2 year, 4 year, trade school, military, or work.
Kendal on Hudson Music Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: 88 GPA, Accepted to Music Conservatory for next year.
Kendal on Hudson Nursing Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: 88 GPA, Accepted to Nursing program for next year (please provide proof of enrollment), letter of recommendation from the SHHS Guidance Department.
Kids' Club Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, 2/4 Year College Bound, Financial Need - SAT/ACT Fee Waiver Eligible
Margo Jossem Campbell Memorial Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: 2 or 4 year college bound or technical school bound; letter of recommendation from two of the following: a guidance counselor, teacher, coach, and religious or community leaders; 250 word essay.
The Miriam and Arthur Smith Academic Resource Scholarship - The scholarship will be awarded to graduating SHHS senior(s) in good standing who have shown a progression in scholastic ability and an interest in humanities/liberal arts and who have been of service to the Tarrytown community and/or the school. A video link may also be shared in support of the application.
Nancy Jo Abeles Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: must have at least 80 GPA, Academics/Service/Extracurricular Activities.
The Rey Insurance Grit Grant - Requirements for this scholarship are: 80 GPA, 2/4 Year College Bound, Financial Need, must have a record of academic improvement throughout their four years at SHHS.
Rivertown Runners Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, 2/4 Yr College bound, Community Service, Track and/or Cross Country (minimum 2 years - Junior and Senior Year) You will need to submit a recommendation from your current coach and a transcript.
Sleepy Hollow Mayoral Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: A senior who, will be attending a college, trade school, or pursuing another learning opportunity following graduation, is a resident or child of an employee of the Village of Sleepy Hollow, and will have demonstrated a significant amount of volunteerism, genuine care for their community, and is noted as a person focused upon the greater good.
Sleepy Hollow PBA Checci-Benitez Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship/award are: GPA of at least an 80. Will attend a two or four year accredited college/university, with a major or minor in the field of criminal justice. - Copy of a Letter of Acceptance/Enrollment at college/university Two letters of recommendation from Counselor, Teachers, Coaches or Community figure, Transcript, 250 - 500 word essay, List of additional financial aid awarded by any college/university (if any), any additional scholarships or awards.
Sleepy Hollow PBA Walter Lawrence Scholarship Award - Requirements for this scholarship/award are: Senior with at least an 80 average, Planning to attend a 2/4 year accredited college/university, with a major or minor in the field of criminal justice, Sleepy Hollow High School Football Player, Copy of a Letter of Acceptance/Enrollment at college/university, Two letters of recommendation from Counselor, Teachers, Coaches or Community figure, Transcript, a 250 – 500 word essay.
Tara Schatzel Memorial Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: A minimum GPA of 85 (honors or above); A high school and community citizen who : Does more than the required service hours, Demonstrates leadership skills, is a “self-starter” who prioritizes the needs of others, Demonstrates perseverance in the face of obstacles, Will be attending a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university, takes pride in their work, Demonstrates financial need; 2 Letters of recommendation 1. Teacher/Coach/Counselor and 2. Outside recommendation (religious leader, family member, employer, etc)
Tarrytown Honda Spirit of Labor and Industry Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: senior in good academic standing, currently enrolled in BOCES to eventually pursue a career in the trades.
Tarrytown Seniors Achievement Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, Community Service, 2/4yr College Bound
TAT Scholarship (Teachers Association of the Tarrytowns) - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, Community Service, Extracurricular Activities, Financial Need
Vinu R. Patel Scholarship - Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, 4 Year college bound STEM Major, 1st generation college bound, possible interview with donors.
William Burnette- Rotary Club Award - Requirements for this scholarship are: Improvement in Grades/Performance/Attitude since start of HS.
Athletic Scholarships (awarded at Athletic Awards Night - June 18th)
AYSO Awards: Requirements for this scholarship are: 2/4 yr College Bound, AYSO Participation (at least one year), AYSO Youth Volunteer (preferred, not required).
Rivertown Runners Track/Cross Country Scholarship: This scholarship acknowledges academic and athletic achievements, as well as community service. Requirements for this scholarship are: 85 GPA, 2/4 Yr College bound, Community Service, Track and/or Cross Country (minimum 2 years - Junior and Senior Year) You will need to submit a recommendation from your current coach and a transcript.
Sleepy Hollow Football Club : Requirements for this scholarship are: Sleepy Hollow Football Club Participant, Community Service, 2/4 College Bound
TNT Baseball & Softball League Scholarship: Requirements for this scholarship are: 80 GPA, TNT Baseball or Softball Participant, 2/4 Yr College Bound
